The Maryland Department of Transportation is seeking a qualified candidate to fill a contractual position as a Community Planner (Administrator IV) within the Office of Planning and Capital Programming. The purpose of this position is to help develop, manage and implement multimodal planning initiatives and to ensure that requirements for transparency, design review and performance measurement are met. The position will be responsible for developing and maintaining programs and protocols that implement elements of the Maryland Transportation Plan and the Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan. Programmatic activities are expected to include review and comment on designs, mapping, work plans, schedules and scopes of work, as well as monitoring reporting requirements and maintaining financial records. The candidate will be expected to have strong organizational and communication skills and to continuously coordinate with officials, citizens and stakeholders at the federal, state, regional and local level. The candidate should demonstrate an understanding of key land use and transportation planning issues, and have experience in administering grants, evaluating plans/projects, and implementing programs. The current vacancy is located in Hanover, Maryland in Anne Arundel County.
